Thyagaraja Utsavam

When: Sunday,  28th March 2026

Where: Hindu Center of Virginia
6051 Springfield Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060

Time: 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM

Every year, the Aradhana offers our community a meaningful opportunity to come together in devotion, music, and shared tradition. This year’s celebration promises a full day dedicated to the timeless compositions of Saint Tyagaraja, bringing together musicians, students, and rasikas from across the community.

Morning: Pancharatna and Sampradaya Group Singing

The day will begin inside the temple with a collective rendering of the revered Pancharatna Krithis and selected Sampradaya Krithis.

Tyagaraja Aradhana tradition emphasizes collective devotion through music, and the group singing session reflects that spirit.

Time: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM

This segment brings singers together in a unified musical offering, honoring the legacy of Saint Tyagaraja through shared voice and devotion.

Community Presentations Throughout the Day

Following the group session, singers from our local community will present individual performances featuring the compositions of Tyagaraja.

Time: 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM

Participants of all levels are encouraged to perform and share their musical journey with the community. The goal is to create a supportive platform where both emerging and experienced musicians can celebrate and preserve the rich tradition of Carnatic music.
