Priya Sisters

Richmond Rasikas is proud to announce a Carnatic vocal concert by Priya Sisters, as part of their 2013 spring concert series. 

Shanmukhapriya and Haripriya popularly known as the Priya Sisters, are eminent Carnatic musicians. They started learning vocal music since the age of five from their father Sri.V.V.Subbaram, a post-graduate in music. Later, they had their advanced musical training under the eminent tutelage of Kalaimamanis Smt. Radha and Jayalakshmi. 

They have performed over 2000 concerts in India and abroad touring several countries like the USA, Canada etc., Priya sisters have been the recipients of a plethora of awards that include the 'Best Female Vocalists' awards from Music Academy, Sri Krishna Gana Sabha and the Indian Fine Arts Society, Chennai. The sisters have also been the recipients of the prestigious M.L.V. Memorial award. Additionally, they have been conferred the titles 'Sangeeta Sarada' and 'Gayani Sironmani'. Many recording companies have released a number of albums of Priya Sisters that include the popular 'In Harmony', Bhadrachala Ramdas Kritis, Gaanam, Serene Moments, Annamayya Lahari, Giridhara Gopala, and Devi Kritis to name a few.
